Park Ranger Aide

The Utah Department of Natural Resources, Division of Parks and Recreation, has seasonal positions (no benefits) available at Jordanelle State Park in Heber, Utah. This appointment will last from approximately January 27 to October 2024 with the possibility of an extension. Housing is not provided.

Examples of Duties

Gate Attendants:

Duties include greeting park guests upon entry, providing information, handling money, making camping reservations, and providing excellent customer service. Indoor and outdoor work.

Aquatic Invasive Species Technicians: 

Duties include contacting boaters at the launch ramps for the prevention of Aquatic Invasive Species and outdoor work.

Maintenance:

Duties include daily cleaning of park restrooms and facilities, groundskeeping, and park projects. Indoor and outdoor work.

Office Assistant:

Duties include answering phones, greeting customers, selling annual passes, and being a general backup to the park accountant. Office experience and customer service skills are a must. Accounting experience preferred.

Job Requirements and Skills

Applicant must be 16 years of age or older and have a valid Utah Drivers' license at the time of employment. Applicant should have the ability to work independently in a tourism environment.

Preference may be given to applicants with cash handling, customer service experience, and education in a natural resource-related field.

Applicants must be willing to work in an outdoor setting and work weekends and holidays. Applicants must successfully pass a criminal history background check upon hire.
