Pre-Law Summer Internship
Are you pre-law, or otherwise on a path that might lead you to law school one day? If so, this summer, combine learning from great lawyers (and law firms) with an unforgettable trip.
Combining a pre-law internship with a summer trip or summer abroad program would be life-changing. And it's possible — with the Lex Fellowship. Spend your summer (or part of your summer) learning multiple legal specialties from lawyers at different law firms each week.
What’s a Lex Pre-Law Program?
- Visit 3-25 law firms in one summer program, meet dozens of lawyers
- Do this over 1-9 weeks full time during the summer
- Rotate through multiple legal specialties each week
- This takes place in a city in the US, UK, Spain, Italy, or France
- Includes Housing, some meals, insurance, excursions, etc (but not your flight)
- You are mentored by a current U.S. JD student during the entire program
- Alumni have gone on to most of the top 20 law schools
Full Merit Scholarship: Normally, Lex is a program students pay for. However, this opportunity is for a full merit scholarship and only offered to particularly talented pre-law students who exclusively apply via Handshake.
What’s Included: Lex programs are robust in terms of the law firm exposure, legal training, and extended learning opportunities that prepare students for the law school admissions process and first year of law school. Housing accommodations, law firm visits, a Legal Associate mentor with a U.S. JD background, 24/7 on-site support staff, travel health insurance, cultural excursions, and more are included. Note, however, that the flight to the program city is not included.
Dates: A 1-3 week program (you will be admitted to one program or possibly be able to choose between several). Read more details about the programs here. About Us: Lex is a program of Atlantis, which is active in the field of law but also in healthcare and management consulting. Lex is the only legal experiential education program that is truly tailored for pre-law students in and surrounding the college years. Our team has run summer programs for 16+ years, and pre-law specific programs for over 7 years. Lex alumni have been admitted to most U.S. top 20 law schools, and beyond.
How To Apply: Step (1) Submit your application via Handshake. An initial selection of possible scholarship recipients will be announced sometime after the deadline closes; it takes two minutes, and you apply right here on Handshake (you do NOT need to apply on our site at this stage). Step (2) Those in the final selection group will have additional steps to take to be considered for the full merit scholarship.
