Full-Time Certified Teacher - Ogdensburg, NY

LearnWell is currently looking for our next creative and passionate teacher to fill a 30 hour a week position in Ogdensburg, NY. We would love to collaborate with you and help more kids journey towards their full potential.
The certified teacher will work in a unique psychiatric health facility and treatment center; which involves working with pediatric and adolescent students in a small classroom setting and supporting them academically with common core subjects while they are receiving treatment.
Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:
- Plan, prepare and deliver daily lesson plans and instructional material for an average of 6 to 10 students; in a small group setting
- Help students one-on-one if extra assistance is needed on their individual school curriculum.
- Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students, hospital and parents regarding student progress and student needs
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies
- Updating daily attendance and creating daily session reports for each student
Position entails a 30 hour a week commitment, 6 hours a day- Monday through Friday 9am-3pm. The six hour day consists of three hours of teaching and three hours of administrative time. Qualifications:
- B.A/B.S degree from an accredited institution
- State Teaching Certification in NY
- Comfortable working with students aged 13-18 year olds and sometimes students in K-6
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
- Strong organizational skills
- Understanding of subject matter relevant to students need
