Counselor (Seasonal)

The Camp Counselor position is a seasonal, exempt role reporting to the Camps Director. With a focus on ensuring camper safety and a positive experience, counselors engage directly with campers, providing supervision, assistance with daily activities, and fostering independence. The role requires a self-starter with sound judgment and a sense of humor, capable of working long hours while contributing to a collaborative team effort to create a memorable camp experience.

Preferred qualifications, but not required, include experience in working with individuals with disabilities, CPR and First Aid certifications, and availability for weekend work in fall, winter, and spring, and/or 7-week commitment during the summer. Key skills encompass interpersonal and decision-making abilities, strong communication, reliability, adaptability, motivation, diligence, and patience. 

Specific duties involve building relationships with campers, assisting in their independence, providing personal care support, and ensuring appropriate supervision during camp activities. Essential functions include proficiency in camper care and behavior support, making decisions prioritizing welfare, identifying and addressing safety hazards, and adherence to all Recreation Unlimited rules and procedures. 

Weekend pay starts at $230 with free room and board from Friday at 4:00 till Sunday 11:30 AM!

Weeklong pay starts at $500 with free room and board from Monday at 8:00 AM to Friday between 12 PM and 5 PM! Weekends OFF!!
