Department Student Services Counselor - #14213

Responsibilities

The University of Akron, Wayne Campus, is seeking to fill the position of Department Student Services Counselor. Primary responsibilities include: assisting and counseling students at The University of Akron Wayne Campus on various aspects of student life including registration and financial aid; processing various paperwork related to area of involvement; may determine and counsel students on Ohio residency requirements; maintaining records relating to the functions of student registration and student records.

Required Qualifications

A minimum of 4 (four) years’ experience in student advisement, counseling, admissions and/or customer service; strong communication and customer service skills; computer skills including spreadsheet, database and word processing capabilities; ability to interact with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of university procedures, policies and administrative structure.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position starts at $16.00 hourly and is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
