As a Certified Teacher, you will plan, organize and implement appropriate instructional practices and strategies, specifically those endorsed by Chancelight, in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.

‖ Responsibilities Include:
  • Providing instructional strategies and practices including, but are not limited to, computer assisted instruction, teacher led instruction, and small group collaboration.
  • Effectively utilizing curricular resources, educational software and delivery methods to promote student achievement and foster student engagement in the learning process. 
  • Fostering a safe learning environment for all students and following guidelines for addressing/reporting issues and incidents.
  • Developing daily lesson plans and classroom schedule that reflects state and school requirements.
  • Collaborating with Special Education Teachers and other support staff to provide instructional support and approved modification to the curriculum.
  • Implementing standards for student behavior in order to ensure a safe, secure and effective learning environment by providing a high degree of structure, clear expectations and consistency.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

  • This position operates with general direction from the Center Director/Principal and functions as an integral part of the team in supporting and implementing Chancelight initiatives. 
  • Supports the Center Director/Principal in decisions regarding the operation of the center and is an active and productive member of the site team.

‖ Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in education.
  • Active state teacher license, secondary education preferred.
  • Meet all state professional teacher education requirements.
  • Minimum two years teaching experience.
  • Prior experience working with at risk youth in a school setting preferred.
  • Highly skilled in working with students exhibits diverse needs.
