Official Position Description:
 
  • Engineering Office (1- Roadway & Hydraulic Design): This position will work in the District’s In-house Design section under the direction of the District Roadway & Hydraulics Design Engineer. Duties will include preparing detailed plans for a range of roadway and culvert projects (i.e. pavement maintenance, variety of roadway improvements such as turn lanes or geometric corrections, culvert linings and replacements).
  • Construction Project Engineer (2): This position will work on a variety of projects throughout the District performing various tasks associated with contract administration under the direction of a Senior Project Engineer. The position includes inspection and documentation of project construction in the field and learning various software platforms associated with those duties.
 
 
Qualifications
 
Bachelor's degree in engineering; Accepted for Basic Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (FE exam) by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors.
 
Knowledge of civil engineering technology; OSHA safety practices*; public relations*. Skill in use of computer, CADD & drafting equipment. Ability to understand civil engineering technology; use statistical analysis; comprehend & interpret plans & specifications to conduct standard inspections or design standard plans; cooperate with co-workers on group projects; handle routine & sensitive contacts with public government officials & property owners concerning assigned projects/plans.

If operating state-owned vehicle, must show proof of valid driver's license OR must provide own transportation.
 
Valid certificate as Engineer-In-Training issued or accepted as equivalent by Ohio Board of Registration of Professional Engineers & Surveyors

This position is overtime eligible per FLSA Standards.
