Civil Designer

 

 

• Work closely with Engineer’s to prepare civil design plans for grading, street, sewer, water, and storm drain improvement plans, site design, existing utility evaluation, hydrology, and hydraulic calculations, and 3DModeling/Site BIM drawings using computer-assisted drafting systems (AutoCAD and Civil 3D)

 

• Work collaboratively with multidiscipline design team

 

• Prepare and review drawings to communicate engineering or architectural ideas

 

• Perform moderate design tasks and prepare portions of project documents

 

• Work independently and collaboratively to plan, design, and/or research for conventional civil engineering projects

 

• Evaluate, analyze, interpret, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria for civil engineering projects

 

• Assist in determining project schedule and budget

 

• Communicate with clients, consultants, and/or other official contacts relating to specific assignments or meetings

 

• Four or more years of experience in drafting and design for engineering plans and documents preferred

 

• Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or in process

 

 

• Knowledge of drafting methods and procedures

 

• Experience using computer-aided design and software including AutoCAD, Civil3D, Autodesk Map, ESRI, Hydrocad and Microsoft Office

 

• Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively in a team framework

 

• Knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and techniques

• Survey field experience a plus

 

• Conduct direct source research techniques, including technical reference documents, government regulations, and maps

 

• Communicate effectively with government representatives, project consultants, and client representatives
