Clampco is seeking a champion who is ready for the challenge! The selected individual will help realize the vision by utilizing their expertise, process knowledge and problem solving to support all levels and departments within the manufacturing environment. The position initially begins on day shift for training, then to 2nd shift. An incentive is offered for 2nd shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This individual will perform a critical role in providing technical automation design, implementation and troubleshooting of supporting production equipment and processes. This individual will report to the Chief Engineer assuring best practice operation of automated production applications and equipment.

  • Maintain and manage operational status of production floor equipment, such as robotic welding or automated production cells
  •  Identify opportunities through automation and process innovation for improving manufacturing efficiency and reductions
  • Design and draft wiring diagrams/schematics for the connection of sensors, controllers, and other components of electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and network devices.
  • Perform programming and validates automation equipment and controls to meet the design requirements
  • Determine process criteria and control logic requirements for automated processes
  • Perform troubleshooting or maintaining or developing new production processes through automation
  • Communicate with the project team on specific requirements, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production personnel on lean manufacturing processes and improvements
  • Assist and or lead designing new robotic or other automated production methods as an engineering team member
  •  Use ROI to determine potential labor and material savings as a means of determining payback schedule
  • Perform root cause analysis and takes corrective action to resolve test failures
  • May present engineering expertise on behalf of company products at customer-based forums, meetings, etc.
  • Willingness and desire to participate in ongoing training to maintain technical competency in automation products, and complimentary area
  • Negligible travel, onsite position in a manufacturing setting

Requirements:
  •  1+ year experience in automation technology
  • 3+ year experience in manufacturing environment preferred
  •  Experience working with PLC’s is strongly preferred
  • Ability to read / troubleshoot and write PLC programs, electrical schematics, basic wiring, 3-D modeling
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering program that is specifically related to the company needs
  • Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and communication skills
  • Ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation
