Lab Research Assistant

AgriPlex Genomics was formed in 2014 with the goal of creating a platform for genotyping in

large populations. We specialize in focused, simultaneous analysis of DNA samples in support of

animal and plant breeders. Our proprietary technology allows us to partner with breeders and

researchers to identify desirable traits, leading to healthier and more productive crops and

livestock. We are currently seeking a Research Assistant for this important work.

The selected candidates will assist in the execution and on-going development of genotyping

applications using proprietary sequencing platform.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Execute high throughput robotically driven PCR and Sequencing service.

 Support the development of new technologies for genotyping in unlimited number of

plant and animal samples.

 Maintain thorough and precise laboratory documentation practices

 Participate in lab maintenance activities: Order supplies and maintain inventory.

 Learn new techniques such as robotic sample handling and protein purification.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 Bachelor’s degree in Biology or related field.

 Ability to understand complex scientific concepts and protocols.

 Be able to work independently and in a team; be a considerate team member.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

 Ability to conduct laboratory experiments in scientific areas including Next Generation

Sequencing (NGS), GbS, PCR and qPCR.

 Flexible work schedule to meet the needs of the laboratory as needed.

 Ability to execute experiments correctly and efficiently based on standard operating
