Responsibilities:
· (Student Academic Success): the Math Lab, Writing Lab, Tutorial Services or the main office.
· Duties involve providing tutoring to students enrolled in UA courses individually or in small groups.
· Offer assistance with study skills and test taking strategies.
· Interaction with tutoring/department staff and the public is required.
· Other tasks may be assigned by the supervisors as needed.
Qualifications or Requirements:
- Tutors must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must have successfully completed the course for which the tutoring subject is provided with a grade of B or above.
- Must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Must attend Tutor Training.
- Must complete required paperwork.
- Punctuality and reliability are required.
All University of Akron student employees must meet the designated minimum standards as stated on the Student Employment Eligibility Chart. UA student employees must be 18 years or older at the time of their start date. Any approved remote work conducted by student employees MUST be performed within the state of Ohio.
