Career Assistant Fall 2019

Career Assistants (CA's) are UA students employed in paid positions by Career Services to expand delivery of the office’s resources and services. CA’s will be extensively trained on all duties and responsibilities listed below. The CA role may be slightly modified, as needed, to meet the needs of Career Services and students. This is a great opportunity to gain transferable and soft skills for your future! 

General Responsibilities:
  • Conduct resume, cover letter and mock interview appointments
  • Provide support for events such as the UA Internship and Career Fair, Etiquette Lunch and additional programming
  • Assist with promoting services at informational tables
  • Assist with walk-in appointments of students and alumni
  • Provide assistance with creation and implementation of marketing
  • Participate in regular weekly meetings
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75/4.0
  • Undergraduate with a minimum sophomore status (32 credit hours completed by end of Spring 2019 semester)
  • Ability to commit to working more than one semester as a Career Assistant
  • Open to all majors
  • Experience (or desire to gain experience) working with students of diverse educational, racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong initiative to seek out projects and follow through on projects
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Demonstrated (or desire to gain) leadership experience
  • Positive, polished and professional attitude
  • Computer literacy: MS Office
