CBA Success Leader
CBA Success Leaders are responsible for assisting the 6100:110 CBA Success Seminar (required class for incoming CBA students) instructor and for planning social & service activities throughout the semester. 8 CBA Success Leaders will be hired and partnered with a specific CBA Success Seminar section and instructor. Success Leaders will be required to:
- Attend weekly 1-hour CBA Success Seminar class (CBA Success Leaders will be assigned a class section based upon schedule availability. Section times vary throughout the semester). Success Leaders may be asked to present certain topics or to help lead class discussions.
- Meet with CBA Success Seminar instructor once a week to discuss the class.
- Provide weekly 1-hour outside of class time for students in the assigned class section to ask questions.
- Organize and facilitate 3 outside of class activities during the semester for the assigned class section. Examples include, attending a UA sponsored event, attending a UA athletic game, volunteering in the local Akron area.
- Attend a bi-weekly meeting of the CBA Success Leaders.
- Attend one half-day training the week before Fall semester
- Provide assessment on students’ satisfaction of the class and learning comparing the beginning to the end of the semester.
Fall semester 2019: 5 hours per week
$12.00 per hour
Job Qualifications:
- Admitted to a CBA major
- 2.5 cumulative GPA required, preference to 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
- Involvement in CBA organizations or activities
- Strong leadership, team building and communication skills
- Preference to students who completed the 6100:110 CBA Success Seminar course
