Just Like Home Day Care is a small, welcoming, church-based childcare program dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and positive environment where children can learn, grow, and feel right at home.

We are currently looking for a caring, patient, and dependable individual to join our team as a Part-Time Childcare Assistant / Teacher's Aide.

What You'll Do

Help supervise and care for children in a safe, structured afternoon program. You'll assist the lead teacher with daily activities, help with snack time, support homework or quiet reading, and make sure every child feels seen and valued.

Core responsibilities:

Supervise children during afternoon care hours (2:30–6:00 PM, Mon–Fri).

Assist the lead teacher with age-appropriate activities and transitions.

Independently supervise and manage the classroom during the final 1–2 hours of the day (approximately 4:00 or 5:00–6:00 PM), while maintaining a safe, positive, and structured environment.

Help prepare and serve afternoon snacks.

Support children with homework or quiet activities.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment.

Communicate warmly with parents at pickup.

What We're Looking For

A genuine love for working with children.

Patient, dependable, and calm under pressure.

Confident and comfortable independently supervising a group of children and handling end-of-day responsibilities.

Able to work Monday through Friday, 2:30–6:00 PM.

Prior experience in childcare, education, or a related setting preferred but not required.

Willing to complete all required training and certifications for the position, including CPR/First Aid.

Must successfully complete required background checks, including fingerprinting.

Must meet all applicable Ohio childcare licensing requirements.

All costs associated with required fingerprinting, training, and certifications will be covered by Just Like Home Day Care.

Nice to Have

Early childhood education coursework or a related degree in progress.

Experience in a church-based or community childcare setting.
