Objective:     To help promote Kimmel Orchard & Vineyard (KOVE) while learning skills related to agriculture education and food safety. All KOVE interns will receive cross-training in multiple areas and must be open to other duties as assigned.

 

Schedule:     Monday-Friday; 40-45 hours per week; some event and weekends required; flexibility available

Wage:           $14/hour; generous employee discount

Housing: Free On-Site Summer Housing is provided near Kimmel Orchard & Vineyard

Supervisors:  Justin Wissmann - Managing Director

Planned Projects:

Ø Management and improvement of our social media accounts

Ø Create an online ordering option – logistics plan for curbside pickup

Ø Website event maintenance – create blogs and vlogs with the Food Safety Intern to maintain consistency with weekly educational information posts

Ø Assist with the development of events, tours, and future planning

Ø Assist with general office operations

Ø Create advertising and educational pieces to include food safety processes and procedures

Ø Photography of orchard events and landscapes

Eligibility and Preferred Skills:

Ø Students interested in marketing, advertising, and/or business administration

Ø Highly motivated in finding information and answers

Ø Ability to prioritize/execute and achieve desired project goals

Ø High level of communication skills and an initiative to learn

Ø Have a background in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, or other design programs

Ø Ability to take clear, consistent photos and videos

Ø Efficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Word Press, and others as required

Ø 19 years of age preferable

 

Responsibilities:

Ø Management and knowledge of food safety protocols

Ø Photography and videography of orchard events and landscapes

Ø Assist with the development and execution of event planning

Ø Develop consistency in posts by following our mission statement

Ø Create pieces of marketing for advertising outlets

Ø Assist in Apple Barn retail operations

Ø Promotion of the orchard as well as assist with giving tours
