Tutor – Tutoring K-8th Grade Students
Location: Columbus, Ohio and Mansfield, Ohio (Onsite)Employment Type: Part-Time (10–20 hours per week)
About the RoleWe're looking for a dedicated Tutor to work one-on-one and in small groups with K-8th grade students. You'll help kids build foundational skills, gain confidence, and actually enjoy learning — whether that's cracking multiplication tables, decoding their first chapter book, or getting comfortable with writing.
What you'll do- Work directly with students in grades K-8 across core subjects including reading, writing, and math- Assess where each student is and tailor your approach to meet them there- Track student progress and adjust lesson plans as needed- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about student development- Keep sessions structured, engaging, and age-appropriate- Maintain a safe, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes
About you- Experience working with children, whether in a classroom, camp, after-school program, or similar setting- Patience — real patience, not the buzzword kind- Strong grasp of elementary and middle school subject matter- Reliable and consistent; students and families count on you showing up- Pursuing or holding a degree in Education, Psychology, Child Development, or a related field is a plus
Nice to have- Experience with differentiated instruction or students with learning differences- Familiarity with common curricula used in K-8 settings- Bilingual skills
