About the Position

Fantasia Mining is looking for a motivated, dependable individual who wants the opportunity to learn multiple areas of a real-world business while becoming an important part of our team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a student, recent graduate, or someone early in their career who wants hands-on experience in business, marketing, sales, communications, entrepreneurship, information systems, e-commerce, wholesale/B2B, general business operations and even geology/geoscience.

Extensive previous work experience is not required. We are interested in what you are capable of becoming, not simply what you have already done.

What matters most to us is finding someone who is intelligent, dependable, comfortable with people and computers, willing to learn, can work both with a team and independently and is motivated to grow with the business.

This is not a "sit behind a desk and wait for the phone to ring" position. We are looking for someone who takes initiative, stays productive, asks questions, learns quickly, and eventually becomes comfortable handling responsibilities independently.

Full-Time With a Student-Friendly Schedule

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position, but we can offer flexibility in how those 40 hours are scheduled.

We understand that college students may have classes during the week. If you have a consistent class schedule, we can work with you to arrange your work hours around it while still maintaining a full-time schedule.

We are looking for someone who can commit to a consistent, dependable full-time schedule, but we don't believe your college class schedule should automatically prevent you from being considered for the position.

What You'll Learn & Do

• Assist walk-in retail and wholesale customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Help existing and new customers through incoming phone calls, emails, and social media
• Process customer orders and inquiries accurately
• Help with marketing and promotion to attract new wholesale customers
• Gain exposure to e-commerce and online marketplaces
• Assist with general office duties and day-to-day business operations
• Follow up with potential customers and sales leads
• Manage our social media, including posting about products, events, and participating in our live feeds
• Work with Microsoft Excel, email, internet research, and other business applications
• Learn to use modern AI tools for research, communication, problem-solving, and everyday business tasks
• Help develop ideas for reaching new customers and improving customer service
• Help wherever needed in a small-business environment
• As you learn our products and business, you will have opportunities to take on additional responsibilities based on your interests, abilities, and performance.

• Ask questions when necessary while also trying to find solutions independently
• Take initiative rather than waiting to be told every small task
• Be interested in learning about sales, marketing, customers, and how a small business operates
• Want a stable position with opportunities to learn, grow and advance

Beneficial, but not required:

• Interest in rocks, fossils, gemstones and minerals
• Previous experience in customer service, retail, office work, sales, social media, or e-commerce
• Experience with Photoshop, Excel, social media, marketing, or other business applications

Majors & Backgrounds

Students and recent graduates from many different backgrounds may be a good fit, including Business, Marketing, Sales, Entrepreneurship, Communications, E-Commerce, Information Systems, Management, Geology/Earth Science, and related fields.

Your major is not a requirement. We encourage applicants from any educational background who believe their skills and personality would make them successful in this position.

Pay & Growth Opportunities

Starting Pay: $15.00 per hour

This is a full-time, entry-level position with opportunities for additional compensation as you demonstrate initiative, reliability, strong performance, and an ability to help the company grow.

Additional compensation can include bonuses for developing new customers, profit sharing, increased PTO, pay increases, and other performance-based incentives as your responsibilities and contributions grow.

We are looking for someone who wants to grow with the company rather than simply work a temporary job.
