Construction Project Manager Intern - Roofing

Summary of Position

 

The Project Manager Intern supports the Project Management team by assisting with project planning, budgeting, documentation, reporting, and client support activities. This internship provides hands-on exposure to the project lifecycle and helps students develop an understanding of how industrial and commercial projects are managed from project award through completion.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Assist Project Managers with project planning, coordination, and execution activities. 
  • Support project cost tracking, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. 
  • Assist with project documentation, contracts, change orders, purchase orders, and project records. 
  • Help prepare project status reports, meeting minutes, schedules, and customer communications. 
  • Participate in project meetings, customer meetings, and job site visits. 
  • Coordinate with Operations, Safety, Estimating, Accounting, and Procurement teams to support project objectives. 
  • Monitor project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and project performance metrics. 
  • Assist with project closeout activities, documentation, and lessons learned reviews. 
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and special projects as assigned.

 

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Project Management, or a related field. 
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Previous construction, industrial, engineering, or project-related experience. 
  • Interest in Project Management, Construction Management, or Industrial Services. 
  • Familiarity with project scheduling, budgeting, project controls, or project management software.
