Job Description

ESO Consultants LLC is seeking an experienced Community Engagement & Grants Manager to support the administration and community engagement activities of the Manhattan Cruise Terminal Community Fund.

The ideal candidate will have experience in community engagement, stakeholder coordination, grant administration, public-sector or nonprofit programs, and applicant support. This role will work closely with community organizations, residents, stakeholders, committee members, and applicants to ensure the Fund’s activities are transparent, accessible, equitable, and community-centered.

Key Responsibilities

Community Engagement & Stakeholder Coordination

Develop and implement community engagement strategies and activities for ESO Consultants LLC.

Build and maintain relationships with Hell’s Kitchen residents, nonprofits, workforce organizations, educational institutions, faith-based organizations, environmental justice organizations, and other community-based organizations.

Support the establishment and ongoing operation of the Fund’s Oversight Committee.

Organize and facilitate stakeholder, community, and committee meetings.

Prepare meeting agendas, presentations, meeting materials, minutes, and follow-up documentation.

Develop outreach and marketing strategies to increase awareness and participation in the Fund.

Support multilingual, culturally sensitive, inclusive, and accessible outreach efforts.

Organize community events, information sessions, webinars, and applicant outreach activities.

Grant & Application Administration

Develop and distribute Fund application materials, instructions, and submission guidelines.

Support the development of eligibility requirements, selection criteria, and evaluation rubrics.

Manage application intake and respond to applicant inquiries.

Provide technical assistance and guidance to prospective applicants throughout the application process.

Maintain an organized, accurate, and secure applicant database.

Coordinate application review, evaluation, and scoring activities.

Support selection committee meetings and maintain related documentation.

Coordinate communications with both selected and non-selected applicants.

Reporting & Program Support

Track community engagement, outreach, application, and applicant participation metrics.

Maintain accurate records of engagement activities, applications, meetings, and outcomes.

Provide relevant information and data to the Program Director for quarterly reporting.

Support ongoing program administration and ensure activities remain aligned with Fund requirements.

Promote transparency, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and community-centered practices across all ESO Consultants LLC activities.

These responsibilities reflect the RFP requirements related to Oversight Committee support, annual community engagement, outreach, application solicitation, applicant assistance, grant administration, and project selection support.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Community Development, Public Administration, Public Policy, Nonprofit Management, Communications, Social Work, Urban Studies, or a related field.

Master’s degree preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of experience in community engagement, grants administration, nonprofit programs, public-sector programs, stakeholder management, or a related field.

Experience working with community-based organizations and diverse populations.

Experience facilitating public meetings, community forums, and stakeholder committees.

Experience with grant applications, application review, or grant administration.

Strong written, verbal, organizational, facilitation, and interpersonal communication skills.

Strong ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders, deadlines, meetings, and application activities.

Knowledge of New York City communities, government agencies, and community-based organizations preferred.

Experience supporting programs that involve public engagement, community funding, or equitable distribution of resources is a plus.
