Summary of Position
The Finance Intern will support the Finance team with reporting, financial analysis, forecasting, and special projects while gaining hands-on experience in business finance within a growing industrial services organization. The intern will assist with interpreting financial data, identifying trends, supporting decision-making, and developing recommendations that help drive business performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation of weekly KPI, operational, and financial reports.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities.
- Analyze financial statements, business performance metrics, and key trends.
- Assist with job audits, work-in-progress (WIP) reviews, and operational reporting.
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and financial models using Excel and other reporting tools.
- Assist with monthly management reporting and presentation preparation.
- Participate in process improvement, data analysis, and special projects.
- Research industry trends, business opportunities, and potential acquisition targets as assigned.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and operational site visits to better understand the business.
- Complete a final internship project and presentation summarizing key learnings and recommendations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interpret and analyze data and present findings clearly.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience with financial analysis, reporting, data visualization, or business analytics preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems, reporting tools, or financial modeling preferred.
