Junior Full Stack Developer

PHP · React · SQL

Full-Time · Remote (US) · $100,000–$125,000

About ManagementONE

ManagementONE® is a leading provider of merchandise intelligence for independent retailers. Our forecasting, inventory, and analytics products help clients optimize operations, improve profitability, and grow sustainably—powered by technology and deep retail expertise.

The Role

We're hiring a junior Full Stack Developer to join a team of five, reporting to our Technology Manager. You'll help maintain and evolve our GCP-hosted, microservices platform in a fully remote setting.

You'll start by owning production support—triaging and resolving issues across the stack while building deep product and architecture knowledge—then ramp into feature development and cross-functional work on increasingly complex initiatives.

Responsibilities

Production Support (initial focus)

  • Own support tickets end-to-end: triage, root-cause, resolve, and communicate timelines clearly.
  • Debug across PHP, React, and SQL layers in a microservices environment.
  • Prioritize competing issues independently and escalate when appropriate.

Feature Development (as you ramp up)

  • Build and maintain web applications in PHP, React, JavaScript, and SQL.
  • Partner with the business team to turn requirements into technical specs.
  • Integrate REST APIs and third-party services to extend functionality.
  • Collaborate with product, data, and engineering on larger initiatives within an Agile SDLC.

Requirements

  • Some Laravel/PHP experience: can talk through building a REST endpoint (validate → business logic → persist → respond), even if not fluent in Laravel specifically. Comparable framework experience (any PHP/MVC framework) counts.
  • Understands MVC basics: controller vs. service distinction, roughly where validation belongs, general idea of middleware and migrations. Doesn't need to be sharp on Laravel's specific implementation.
  • Can write basic SQL joins and aggregates — should be able to reason through querying top-N results across a few related tables (even if syntax isn't perfect). This is a baseline filter, not an expert bar.
  • Some React experience: understands the general component lifecycle (what runs on load, how state updates trigger re-renders) and can describe a sane approach to debugging a UI that isn't updating.
  • Can explain authentication vs. authorization at a conceptual level.
  • GCP exposure is a plus, not required — familiarity with Cloud SQL or IAM concepts helps, but we don't expect deployment experience at this level.
  • Basic understanding of what CI/CD does and why.
  • Uses AI dev tools daily and can describe how they check the output — doesn't need to know TDD/data contracts by name, but should show some instinct for not blindly trusting AI-generated code.
  • Coachable, communicates clearly when they don't know something (rather than guessing), and shows a track record of following through on assigned work.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $100,000–$125,000, commensurate with experience.
  • Health: Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Retirement: 401(k) plan.
  • Equipment & connectivity: Home-office hardware stipend, plus monthly internet and phone stipend.
  • Time off: Unlimited PTO.

Schedule & Location

Fully remote. Our primarily US-based team works core hours of 7:00 AM–4:00 PM Pacific. We offer flexibility across time zones—for example, East Coast members typically shift earlier—provided there's meaningful overlap during core collaboration windows.

How to Apply

Submit your resume, a brief note about your background, and any code samples or portfolio links showcasing your PHP, React, and SQL work. We review applications on a rolling basis and will reach out if your background is a strong fit.
