Remote Sales & Marketing Representative
EMJ Marketing Group LLC is a growing marketing agency based in Bemidji, Minnesota. We help local service businesses strengthen their digital presence, improve their visibility on Google, build conversion-focused websites, generate leads, and create systems that turn online searches into real customer opportunities.
We are looking for motivated college students to join EMJ Marketing in a fully remote Business Development and Client Acquisition role. This opportunity is designed for students interested in marketing, sales, communications, business, entrepreneurship, or anyone who wants hands-on experience learning how companies find, communicate with, and acquire new clients.
This is not a traditional hourly job with scheduled shifts. You can work from anywhere and build your outreach around your own schedule. There are no required weekly hours or set shifts. What matters is that you communicate professionally, follow through on the opportunities you pursue, and represent EMJ Marketing well.
This position is 100% commission-based and does not include an hourly wage or salary.
What You’ll Do
You will focus primarily on the early stages of business development and client acquisition. Your responsibilities may include:
Researching businesses that could be a strong fit for EMJ Marketing’s services
Identifying potential clients through online research, local business directories, social media, networking, referrals, and other prospecting methods
Reaching out to prospective clients through professional email, phone, social media, or other approved communication channels
Starting conversations with business owners and decision-makers
Learning how to identify potential marketing challenges and business needs
Explaining EMJ Marketing’s services clearly and professionally at an introductory level
Asking questions to determine whether a prospect may be a qualified opportunity
Following up with interested prospects in a professional and organized way
Helping schedule or coordinate qualified conversations with EMJ Marketing leadership
Keeping accurate records of prospects, conversations, follow-ups, and opportunities
Communicating regularly with EMJ leadership regarding active prospects and potential clients
Learning from outreach results and improving your approach over time
You are not expected to become a marketing expert before starting, independently develop marketing strategies for clients, perform client marketing services, or manage client accounts.
Once you generate a qualified client opportunity, EMJ Marketing leadership will handle the deeper strategy conversations, service recommendations, pricing, proposals, agreements, onboarding, and fulfillment. Your primary responsibility is creating legitimate opportunities and helping move interested prospects into conversations with EMJ.
Compensation
This position is commission-based only. There is no hourly wage, salary, or guaranteed compensation.
Representatives earn 50% commission on qualifying sales/clients they successfully bring to EMJ Marketing.
Commission is earned when an opportunity you originate meets EMJ Marketing’s requirements for a qualifying sale or client. Before beginning outreach, representatives will receive clear information regarding what qualifies for commission, how commission is calculated for EMJ’s different services, how a client is attributed to a representative, and when earned commissions are paid.
Because compensation depends on successful client acquisition, earnings are not guaranteed. We do not make income promises or expect every prospect to become a client.

Remote and Flexible by Design
This position is fully remote. There are:
No set shifts
No required daily schedule
No required location
No required weekly hours
You can prospect and communicate with potential clients around classes, work, extracurricular activities, and other responsibilities.
That flexibility also means this position requires independence. EMJ Marketing will provide direction, information about our services, and support, but representatives are expected to manage their own prospecting activity and follow through on the opportunities they create.
Why Join EMJ Marketing
EMJ Marketing is building a growth-focused agency serving businesses that need stronger websites, better local visibility, more organized lead generation, and better systems for turning prospects into customers. The company currently works across areas including website design, local SEO and Google visibility, paid advertising, CRM and lead management, automation, and reputation management.
For the right student, this is an opportunity to gain meaningful experience inside a growing company rather than simply observing from the sidelines. You will be responsible for real business development activity, communicate with real business owners, and learn how professional client acquisition works from initial prospecting through the handoff of qualified opportunities.
We are looking for students who want flexibility, responsibility, and an opportunity to develop valuable business skills while contributing directly to EMJ Marketing’s growth.
