Restaurant IT Coordinator

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

Job Summary

We’re on the lookout for a proactive and tech-savvy Restaurant IT & Business Systems Coordinator (OTP Pro) for a hands-on technology lead to keep our restaurants and office running smoothly.

As our Restaurant Technology & Business Systems Coordinator, you'll be the go-to person for company technology; laptops, tablets, phones, printers, user accounts, business software, phone and internet service, vendors, etc. You'll also be our backup restaurant technology specialist, partnering with our lead McDonald's technology specialist (OTP Pro) during big rollouts, outages, new restaurant openings, and busy stretches.

This role is a mix of fixing problems today and preventing them tomorrow. If you like solving puzzles, explaining tech in plain language, and making systems work better for the people who use them, we'd like to meet you.

What you'll do

Company technology

  • Be the main contact for technology needs across our restaurants and office.
  • Keep an accurate inventory of computers, tablets, phones, printers, and network equipment.
  • Set up, assign, replace, collect, and securely dispose of company devices.
  • Track warranties and plan replacements before equipment fails.
  • Support technology for new restaurants, remodels, and office moves.

Restaurant technology (backup support)

  • Partner with our OTP Pro and step in during rollouts, upgrades, openings, outages, and when they're out.
  • Help troubleshoot and coordinate repairs on registers, kitchen screens, digital menu boards, payment devices, and printers.
  • Decide whether an issue can be fixed in-house or should go to the OTP Pro, the McDonald's Help Desk, or a vendor.
  • Help train restaurant managers on basic troubleshooting and upkeep.
  • Follow McDonald's procedures and never make unapproved changes to McDonald's-managed systems.

Business systems and user accounts

  • Support the software used by Operations, HR, Training, and Finance.
  • Set up new users, reset passwords, and remove access when people change roles or leave.
  • Make sure each person has only the access their job needs.

What you bring

Required

  • Experience in IT, technical support, or business systems — ideally in restaurants, retail, hospitality, or another multi-location business.
  • OTP training or certification, or willingness to complete it after hire.
  • Working knowledge of computers, software, networks, mobile devices, printers, and user accounts.
  • Experience working with vendors, service tickets, equipment inventories, and tech projects.
  • Strong organization, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to juggle priorities and stay calm when something urgent breaks.
  • Good judgment and discretion with confidential information.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel regularly between locations.
  • Flexibility to work some early mornings or evenings for installs and upgrades.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice to have

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in IT, computer systems, cybersecurity, business, or a related field.
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft, Google, or similar certification.
  • Experience with new restaurant openings, remodels, or multi-location rollouts.
  • Familiarity with McDonald's restaurant operations and technology.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical staff.
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure components such as routers, switches, firewalls; understanding of computer management tools; experience supporting mobile devices is a plus.
  • A proactive attitude with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organized and results-driven — you follow every issue through to the finish.
