Summer Analyst/Associate, Corporate & Business Advisory

This role will report directly to the Vice President of Corporate & Business Advisory or their designee.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM OBJECTIVE

The Summer Analyst/Associate, Corporate & Business Advisory position will be focused on providing financial analysis to support the Firm's clientele. This individual will play an integral role on our team, providing quantitative and analytical support for all sell-side and buy-side acquisition assignments, refinancing, recapitalization, and restructuring assignments, and will be responsible for interacting and collaborating with the client and their respective advisors throughout the process.

 

This role will be assigned to a variety of projects and given a broad range of responsibilities such as developing and managing comprehensive financial models and analysis, creating client presentations, preparing for and attending client meetings, and performing in-depth company and industry research.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

A Summer Analyst/Associate, Corporate & Business Advisory will work collaboratively with the Corporate & Business Advisory team supporting a variety of client engagements including but not limited to sell-side and buy-side transactions, refinancing, recapitalization, and restructuring assignments.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in developing and maintaining financial models and projections, including Comparable Company Analysis (Public Comps), Precedent Transaction Analysis (M&A Comps), Discounted Cash Flow Analysis (DCF), Merger & Acquisition models, and various strategic alternatives and capital structure options
  • Communicating financial information and strategic issues in a clear, concise, and relevant manner to assist and guide executives and business owners across a variety of corporate finance transactions
  • Performing due diligence on behalf of clients for any transaction or assignment involved in a client engagement, including support in compiling a comprehensive data room and presentation materials
  • Conducting comprehensive and in-depth company and industry research
  • Demonstrating extraordinary attention to detail on all client deliverables
  • Developing and delivering customized presentations and plans to help clients accomplish their goals
  • Managing multiple projects at once, working effectively and efficiently both independently and as part of a team

 

QUALIFICATIONS

The Summer Analyst/Associate, Corporate & Business Advisory must meet the following qualifications to qualify for application/consideration:

  • Be a 3rd year undergraduate candidate in a finance or business track program, or a current graduate student pursuing an MBA
  • Have an interest in investment banking, private equity, or consulting roles post-graduation
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment with minimal supervision
  • Possess strong communication and networking skills
  • Demonstrate impeccable research, quantitative, and analytical skills, especially in explaining market and company events
  • Be able to adapt quickly to a variety of industries and businesses
  • Be able to challenge the financial and strategic assumptions of business line executives, finance personnel, and other diligence team members
  • Demonstrate proven proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Microsoft Excel
  • Be able to organize and track overlapping tasks and assignments amid frequent priority changes
  • Possess strong financial modeling and forecasting skills
