Facilities Director

Facilities Director - Buildings & Grounds Department

 

 

Oneida County is hiring for a Facilities Director position with the Buildings & Grounds Department.

 

SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES: This leadership position is responsible for directing and supervising the personnel and operations of the Buildings & Grounds Department. Duties include overseeing the maintenance, repair, security, and operation of County buildings and grounds; managing the department budget and long-term facility planning; supervising staff; coordinating construction and remodeling projects; and working with contractors and vendors. This is a working supervisor position that includes hands-on involvement in building and grounds maintenance and project management.

 

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified candidates should have post-high school education in Industrial Mechanical Technology, skilled trades, business, management, or a related field, along with at least four years’ experience in professional building maintenance experience and three years supervisory experience. Candidates must have strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. 

 

WORK HOURS: This exempt, salaried position will work at least 40 hours per week, mostly during weekdays; however, additional hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, will be necessary to fulfill essential duties and operational demands. The Facilities Director is routinely on call outside normal business hours and is responsible for ensuring 24-hour emergency coverage.

 

WAGES AND BENEFITS: Starting salary of $81,221 to $92,823, contingent on qualifications.
