HR Student Assistant – Part-Time
Location: Boardman, Ohio
Schedule: 15–20 hours per week, flexible around class schedules

About the Opportunity
This is an opportunity to gain real, hands-on HR experience inside a manufacturing operation while working directly alongside an HR Manager.
You'll have the opportunity to learn how HR actually operates—from recruiting and onboarding to HRIS administration, employee records, training, compliance, and employee engagement.
We're looking for a dependable, organized student who is curious about HR, comfortable learning new systems, and interested in seeing how HR supports a manufacturing workforce.
What You'll Do
You'll assist with day-to-day HR administration while also getting exposure to a variety of HR functions, including:
HR Administration & HRIS
- Assist with maintaining accurate employee records and personnel files
- Support data entry and updates in ADP Workforce Now
- Help audit employee information for accuracy and completeness
- Help maintain HR reports and spreadsheets
Recruiting & Onboarding
- Assist with posting and maintaining job advertisements
- Coordinate interviews and communicate with candidates
- Help organize pre-employment paperwork and onboarding materials
- Assist with new-hire onboarding through ADP
- Help maintain recruiting and onboarding records
Training & Development
- Help maintain employee training records
- Assist with tracking required training and certifications
- Help organize training materials and employee development resources
- Support projects to build standardized training programs for different positions
Employee & HR Support
- Assist with employee communications and HR projects
- Help organize HR events and employee engagement activities
- Assist with benefits and open enrollment administration
- Research HR topics and help develop policies, procedures, and resources
- Support special projects based on the needs of the HR department
Special Projects
Depending on your interests and abilities, you may have the opportunity to take ownership of projects such as:
- HR file audits
- Training record audits
- ADP data cleanup
- Onboarding process improvement
- Employee engagement projects
- HR reporting and metrics
- Job description development
- Recruiting process improvements
- Policy and procedure projects
- Process documentation
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Currently enrolled in a college or university
- Interest in Human Resources, Business, Management, Organizational Leadership, or a related field
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Willingness to learn new systems and processes
- Dependable and able to manage multiple priorities
Preferred:
- Junior or senior-level student
- Previous administrative, customer service, HR, or office experience
- Experience with Excel, Microsoft Office, or an HRIS
- Interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources
- Previous internship, co-op, or campus leadership experience

Education
Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
