EDITOR/GRAPHIC DESIGNER
Do you want to learn the inner workings of one of the world's most-loved and fascinating food groups and are you a creative thinker? Reporting from the heart of America’s Dairyland in Madison, Wisconsin, CHEESE MARKET NEWS serves the cheese and dairy industry across the nation and world with the latest news affecting stakeholders in the cheese and dairy business. We are seeking a versatile team player who is capable of rewriting press releases (working their way up to original reporting), accurately computing and reporting numerical data, page layout, graphic design with print ads and online banner and tile ads as well as website maintenance experience. We are looking for that “right person” to combine writing with a natural combination of artistic vision, technical proficiency and creative problem-solving including a keen eye for design and the agility to adapt to new tools, trends and mediums. You must be able to create designs that are not only visually appealing but also communicate the intended message effectively. Being a team player with good communication skills when we are under deadline pressure is essential.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree or the equivalent work experience; excellent interpersonal skills; accurate proofreading skills. Technical proficiency and the mastery of design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and familiarity with Word Press are expected.
Preferred qualifications: Thorough knowledge of Word Press and updating a web page; experience with engaging customers via social media platforms; photography and/or video editing skills; newspaper or magazine layout and understanding of print processes and digital file preparation.
