Position Specifics: 

Department:  Sales 

Reports to:  Sales Manager 

Supervises:  None 

 

Purpose: 

Learn how LandMark’s Sales Department is responsible for creating and growing customer relationships and finding the right equipment and technology to optimize their farming operation. Learn how to manage a sale from start to finish and be the first to train on the latest equipment and technology in the industry and demonstrate these opportunities to customers. 
 

Program Overview: 

LandMark Implement has an internship program designed to give potential employees an opportunity to learn the culture of LandMark while providing solutions to our organization and our customers who serve in the agriculture industry. Successful individuals will be invited to apply for a second-year internship where they will get an even further in-depth view of the company. Individuals invited to return for a second year will receive a $1000 scholarship. Scholarships will be a check paid directly to the college upon receipt of upcoming class registration. Interns will be paid per hour with a regulated 40-hour work week.  

 

Intern Selection: 

Interns will be selected by an application process.  

 

Responsibilities: 

Assist in conducting new equipment field demonstrations  

Work through the sales process from sales quotes, purchase orders, contracts, and settlement paperwork 

Assist in maintaining all customer information in assigned territory and manage customer relationships for LandMark Implement, Inc.  

Attend applicable sales training events/seminars, customer clinics, and demonstrations as required by the company  

Understand the importance of being a valued part of a customer’s operation and not just a transactional salesperson 

Review a business plan for a producer 

Understand value-added services and products 

Utilize our customer relationship management tool to record customer contacts 

 

Requirements and Qualifications: 

College students in their second year of a two-year degree or students in their sophomore year of a four-year degree 

Desire to work in Agriculture and Sales 

Excellent customer relationship skills  

Ability to speak and write effectively one-on-one and in groups 

Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions 

A willingness to learn and develop oneself 

 

Location: Holdrege Support Center, travel to other locations as needed 

 

 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Must have a valid drivers license
  • Must be entering your Sophomore, Junior or Senior year of college
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds
  • Ability to run office suite programs
  • Must be in good academic standing

Physical Requirements:  
Some lifting (up to 75 lbs.). Long hours on computer. Prolonged periods of standing and/or sitting. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential.
