Rural Mutual Insurance is seeking motivated individuals to join our financed agent program serving communities across Wisconsin. Whether your experience comes from customer service, agriculture, education, banking, healthcare, retail, military service, athletics, campus leadership, or another field, we'll provide the training, licensing support, coaching, and mentorship needed to help you succeed.
As an Insurance Agent, you'll build relationships with local families, farms, and businesses, help people protect what matters most, and develop a rewarding career with strong earning potential and long-term growth opportunities. Insurance experience is welcome but not required.
At Rural Mutual, we invest in your success from day one through salary support, commissions, bonus opportunities, licensing assistance, professional training, and ongoing coaching. Agents meeting performance expectations generally earn between $75,000 and $85,000 in their first year.

In this role, you will:
- Build relationships with individuals, families, businesses, and community organizations throughout your territory.
- Meet with prospective and existing customers to understand their goals, identify potential risks, and recommend insurance solutions that fit their needs.
- Develop partnerships and expand your professional network through community involvement and local events.
- Create and execute a business development plan to grow your customer portfolio and professional presence.
- Collaborate with underwriting, claims, and customer service teams to deliver a positive customer experience.
- Provide attentive, responsive service by answering questions, resolving concerns, and supporting customers throughout their insurance journey.
- Continue developing your knowledge of insurance products and industry trends to better serve your customers.
- Build a successful business through relationship management, networking, customer service, and professional follow-through.
Qualifications include:
- Experience building relationships with customers, clients, business partners, or community members.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to explain information clearly and confidently.
- Strong organization and time-management skills.
- Ability to build trust and provide excellent customer service.
- Self-motivation and a desire to achieve personal and professional goals.
- Sales experience or experience working toward performance goals is helpful but not required.
- Experience in customer-facing roles, business development, banking, agriculture, education, healthcare, retail, hospitality, or related fields is a plus.
- Currently licensed in property, casualty, and life insurance, or willing to obtain required licenses with company support during onboarding.
