Junior Developer

Junior Developer

Cost Plus Processing •  Alpharetta, GA  • Full-time, On-site  •  $55,000–$70,000/year

About us

Cost Plus Processing is a merchant services company based in Alpharetta, Georgia. We run our business on a stack we build ourselves — a modern CRM backbone, Python web apps, automated data pipelines between legacy systems and the cloud, and AI voice and chat agents that handle real customer conversations. On the merchant side, we connect payment gateways into the POS and software platforms our clients actually run their businesses on. We’re small, which means the things you build go live in days, not quarters.

The role

This is an entry-level developer position for someone who wants to build with AI and work on real infrastructure — not just talk about either. You’ll work alongside our technical lead on internal tools the whole company depends on, and on the gateway integrations that connect our merchants to the platforms they sell through. You’ll own real projects early.

What you’d actually work on:

  • Payment gateway integrations — connecting processing into new POS systems and third-party software platforms: reading gateway and platform API docs, building and testing the integration in sandbox, handling tokenization and transaction flows, and supporting it once it’s live
  • Building and maintaining applications (Python / FastAPI, SQL, HTML/JS)
  • Writing AI-assisted automations and agent workflows — prompt design, tool integration, testing, and iteration
  • Integrating systems via REST APIs — our CRM platform, telephony, document storage, and internal databases
  • Data migration and reporting work — pulling from legacy databases into modern systems and making the numbers make sense
  • Improving our AI voice and support agents based on real call and ticket data

What we’re looking for

  • Driven. You finish things. You’d rather ship something imperfect and improve it than sit on it.
  • Genuinely proficient with AI tooling. You use Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Cursor or similar as part of how you work every day — and you know where they help and where they’ll confidently hand you garbage.
  • Working knowledge of at least one programming language (Python strongly preferred), plus SQL basics
  • Comfort living in API documentation. A huge part of this job is being handed a gateway or POS platform’s docs you’ve never seen and figuring out how to make it work.
  • Attention to detail. Payment code is code where being almost right is not right.
  • Clear communication — you’ll be explaining what you built to non-technical coworkers and sometimes to a merchant’s software vendor
  • Able to work full-time, on-site in our Alpharetta office

Nice to have (not required):

  • Any exposure to payments — gateways, POS platforms, tokenization, EMV, or PCI concepts
  • Personal projects, GitHub, hackathons, or anything you built because you wanted to
  • Experience with CRM platforms or automation tools (n8n, Zapier, Make)
  • Webhooks, OAuth, and debugging an integration you can’t see the other side of
  • Front-end work — React, Tailwind, or plain HTML/CSS

Formal requirements: A CS/IT degree is welcome but not required. Self-taught developers, bootcamp grads, and career-changers with demonstrable skills are encouraged to apply. 0–4 years of professional experience is the target — this is a role designed to grow someone. Payments experience is a bonus, not a prerequisite; we’ll teach you the industry.

Why take this job

  • You’ll touch everything. No ticket queue, no six layers of approval. You’ll see your work used by the whole company — and by our merchants — within weeks.
  • AI is the job, not a side experiment. We’re already running production AI agents. You’ll be improving them, not pitching a pilot.
  • Payments is a career, not a stack. Gateway and POS integration experience is specialized, in demand, and hard to get without someone giving you the first shot. This is that shot.
  • On-site by design. We hire in-office because the learning curve is faster when you can turn around and ask.

Compensation & details

  • Salary: $55,000–$70,000 annually, depending on demonstrated skill
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, on-site in Alpharetta, GA
  • This position is not remote and is not hybrid.

How to apply

Send your resume to jericho@cpp.life with a short note about something you’ve built — a script, a bot, an automation, an API integration, a project that failed, anything real. Links to GitHub or a portfolio are welcome. Tell us what it does and what you’d do differently now.
