The Securities Division is recruiting an intermediate-level examiner who can independently manage examinations of investment advisers, broker-dealers and securities offerings. This work is for people who enjoy finding inconsistencies, understanding how a process really works, identifying holes in policies and procedures, evaluating risk and telling organizations what needs to improve.

Your work may include reviewing uniform forms, disclosure documents, regulatory filings and financial records for accuracy and consistency; asking firms detailed questions about their processes; evaluating compliance with the Tennessee Securities Act and Rules; conducting post-registration examinations; communicating deficiencies to firms and individuals; recommending corrective action; referring violations or disqualifications; and collaborating with other securities regulators.

The role is classified at the intermediate working level. It includes independent examination responsibility, a moderate workload and periodic travel within Tennessee for onsite examinations, including overnight stays.

Advertised starting pay: $3,631 per month ($43,572 annualized).
Location: Davidson County, Tennessee.
