Position Summary

The Sport Management Department at SUNY Cortland invites applications for an on-campus tenure-track Assistant Professor position.

This is a generalist position designed to attract candidates with diverse professional backgrounds across sport management. Applicants are encouraged to identify their primary area(s) of expertise within their application materials. Areas of interest may include, but are not limited to:

· Marketing

· Public Relations

· Sport Informatics and Analytics

As the oldest and largest sport management program in the SUNY system, the SUNY Cortland Sport Management Department offers a mission-driven, student-centered curriculum grounded in experiential learning, career-driven outcomes, and professional development. We place a high premium on preparing students for careers across the sport industry through applied coursework, internships, and active industry engagement.

Major Responsibilities

Teaching

· Teach undergraduate and/or graduate sport management courses

· Advise and mentor students in sport management.

Scholarship / Creative Activity

· Engage in scholarly work and activities that involve undergraduate or graduate students as appropriate to the application and receipt of tenure.

Service

· Provide service to the department, the University, and professional organizations in Sport Management.

Required Qualifications: PhD, terminal degree, or doctoral candidate who is all but dissertation (ABD) in Sport Management or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated excellence in university- or college-level teaching across undergraduate and online graduate modalities.; Ability to teach across core curriculum areas and high-demand areas in the core curriculum; Minimum of three years of professional, applied experience within the sport industry.
