Sales and Marketing Intern
The Sales & Marketing Intern directly contributes to the success of the company by providing administrative support to the sales and marketing teams. This position assists sales team members in maintaining existing customer relationships and increasing business through new account development. The intern will support the marketing team with campaigns, event coordination, and registration tracking.
The Sales & Marketing Intern will gain confidence in phone and email conversations, achieve a greater understanding of decisions leaders must make, and sharpen skills in scheduling and organization. This is a temporary, seasonal position for the summer of 2027. Expected pay will be $15.00 to $17.00 per hour with the ability to work up to 40 hours per week at our headquarters in Overland Park, KS. This is an on-site position, starting Tuesday, May 25, 2027 and lasting until Friday, August 6, 2027.
Responsibilities:
- Research potential customers to develop marketing lists
- Create messaging for call campaigns and email follow-ups
- Use messaging to call and email potential customers, inviting them to various events
- Work with sales team members to develop and implement sales strategies to build trusted advisor relationships with new accounts
- Learn about technology solutions by participating in training and whiteboarding sessions
- Track all sales activities completed for sales opportunities in CRM system
- Assist with coordinating marketing campaign promotion to drive attendance as well as post-event follow-up
- Provide metrics and analysis of marketing event registration and attendance during marketing campaign lifecycle to team members, marketing team, and vendors
- Assist marketing team and sales team with CRM group cleanup to ensure contacts are properly organized
- Assist the marketing team with webinar and event coordination
Requirements:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook
- Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail
- Must handle multiple assignments simultaneously while placing proper prioritization on tasks
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work within a team, both in-person and through virtual media outlets
- Capable of managing own workload with minimal supervision to tight deadlines
- Professionally assertive
- Bachelor’s degree in sales, business, marketing, communication or a related field completed or in progress (must be, at minimum, a rising senior)
Expectations:
- Will be available via Slack or email to provide timely answers to coworkers, vendors, and customers
- Must report to the Overland Park, KS office during scheduled work hours
- Provide general office administrative assistance as needed
- Complete product and vendor training/certifications as assigned
- Must have or obtain a laptop for business use to provide seamless mobility in the office and remote access
