Position summary

The Brand Insights Intern at Skipper AI turns real information and stories into content that builds the Skipper brand. You're a creative writer at heart, motivated to represent Skipper AI's brand voice and pursue projects across marketing and content that bring that voice to life. You'll manage your own schedule and project-manage your own work, coordinating effectively with internal stakeholders and, where relevant, external ones as well. At the center of the role is a simple skill: taking raw information and turning it into insights and stories that align with where Skipper's brand and marketing are headed. This is a role for someone who wants their creativity to shape how a real company is seen.

Success factors

  • Manages their own schedule and workload while staying in sync with internal stakeholders.
  • Comfortable turning raw information into a clear, compelling narrative.
  • Genuinely curious and observant, picks up on details worth turning into a story.
  • Organized enough to track multiple ideas and projects at different stages at once.
  • Strongly represents Skipper AI's brand voice across everything they create.

Required qualifications | Position competencies & skills

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and figuring out the best approach for an idea.
  • Organized and disciplined enough to track multiple ideas and projects simultaneously without losing the thread.
  • Self-directed and accountable, takes ownership of their work and pursues critiques with a positive growth mindset.
  • Quick to pick up new tools, will be onboarded on Jira, Confluence, and the platforms Skipper AI uses.
  • Comfortable in an early-stage environment where priorities shift and not everything is defined yet.

Preferred qualifications

  • Has independently started and carried a creative project through to completion, a blog, content series, or channel of their own.
  • Experience with content or design tools, comfortable figuring things out without step-by- step guidance.
  • Interest in marketing, branding, or storytelling for a business.
  • Interest in video, design, or other creative mediums beyond writing.
  • Curiosity about how brands build trust and reputation over time.

Position responsibilities

Content creation

  • Create approved content in various formats, written, visual, video, or otherwise.
  • Maintain Skipper AI's brand voice across everything you contribute to.
  • Pursue projects with the expectation of iterating through drafts, incorporating feedback, and refining work through to final approval.
  • Track the impact published pieces have on the company.

Idea development and pitching

  • Turn raw information and observations into content pitches.
  • Collaborate with Skipper AI leadership and stakeholders to prioritize relevant projects while maintaining a backlog of ideas for later.
  • Log and track pitches through the approval process, from idea to in- progress to published.

Internal communication and check-ins

  • Join regular check-ins with internal stakeholders to stay aligned on priorities and ideas.
  • Write up takeaways and actionable items from meetings and conversations.
  • Communicate proactively on scheduling conflicts, blockers, or shifts in priority.

What you will gain

  • A real portfolio of published creative work.
  • Direct access to leadership and how brand decisions actually get made.
  • Hands-on experience turning raw ideas into finished, public-facing content.
  • A front-row seat to how a young AI consultancy builds its brand from the ground up.
  • Practice pitching and defending your own creative ideas in a real business setting.
  • Trackable KPIs and outcomes from the content you contribute to.

Work designation

  • This position is fully remote. All core responsibilities are performed independently and do not require a fixed on-site schedule.
  • The team looks for opportunities to meet in person when project timelines and individual schedules align. These gatherings are intentional but informal, driven by shared momentum rather than a fixed cadence.

Skipper AI core values

Trust and Transparency. We communicate openly, follow through on commitments, and treat every client and colleague with honesty. Trust is the foundation of every relationship we build.

Humble Hunger. There's more to a failed task than the task itself; every mistake carries a lesson, and progress in anything is still progress forward. It's okay to be wrong, as long as you admit it. What matters is being hungry more often than you are wrong.

Have Hard Conversations. One's success in life is directly correlated to their ability to have hard conversations. Conversations are hard if you are passionate, and two passionate people in a room is a rare thing.

About Skipper AI

In the last year, we have worked with 8 companies, on countless projects, and have shipped things that did and didn't work. Importantly, we have captured the themes behind what leads to success or failure, and have not found a use case since those learnings did not apply. Skipper AI exists to not skip them. We've driven 90%+ adoption not because of the platform we picked, but because we refuse to skip the intentional steps. Intentionality through change has never been more important. The tools are the easy part; it's the steps most firms rush past, the change management in between where AI actually sticks or quietly dies.
