Senior Analytical Scientist
As a Senior Analytical Scientist in the Surfaces & Materials Analysis Lab, you’ll specialize in trace and ultratrace metal analysis using ICP‑MS and HR‑ICP‑MS. This is a high‑impact role supporting semiconductor and high‑tech industries with cutting‑edge analytical methods.
What You'll Do
- Lead large projects and provide technical support.
- Develop robust analytical methods for advanced materials.
- Investigate contamination issues and customer concerns.
- Maintain instrument performance and preventive maintenance programs.
- Prepare reports, publish findings, and present at conferences.
- Train laboratory staff on new methods.
- Collaborate with sales/marketing to promote new offerings.
- Ensure safety culture and compliance in the lab.
What We Need
- Strong background in metal analysis, acid handling, and complex sample prep.
- Expertise in ICP‑MS method development, statistical analysis, and method uncertainty determination.
- Experience with laser ablation ICP‑MS is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently under pressure with strong time management.
- Possible travel to California during training.
Education Requirements
- BS Chemistry/related science + 15+ yrs experience
- MS Chemistry/related science + 7+ yrs experience
- PhD Chemistry/related science + 2–5 yrs experience
