About the Role

As a Regional Campus Storyteller, you will be the dedicated video producer and content partner for the Alpha campuses across South Florida. You will build trusted local relationships, uncover stories worth telling, and carry them from initial idea through production, organized media, and edited content.

This role goes beyond videography. In addition to filming, you will identify stories, coordinate shoots, conduct interviews, organize footage, and shape content through editing.

Regular travel between campuses in your territory is required. Trips are typically same-day within the metro area.

You will work as an extension of Alpha's Core Video Team, which establishes priorities, maintains creative standards, and retains final publishing authority.

What You Will Be Doing

• Build recurring relationships with deans, guides, staff, students, and parents across your assigned campuses.
• Maintain an in-person campus presence based on production needs and Core Video Team priorities.
• Develop and pitch original video ideas based on campus programs, people, milestones, and moments.
• Serve as the primary video content contact for your assigned campuses, gathering context and turning opportunities into workable concepts.
• Manage pre-production, including scheduling, participants, locations, and production needs.
• Capture interviews, events, student milestones, workshops, and authentic everyday campus life.
• Produce strong observational footage and interviews using professional camera, lighting, and location-audio techniques.
• Edit finished videos, first cuts, quick-turn content, and selects reels in Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Own footage ingest, naming, organization, upload, and archival handoff.
• Participate in planning and review with the Core Video Team and consistently apply Alpha's evolving creative standards.

What You Will NOT Be Doing

• Waiting for someone to hand you a completed brief or shot list. Proactive story discovery is central to the role.
• Functioning only as a camera operator. Producing, editorial judgment, relationship-building, and post-production are essential.
• Capturing footage and handing over an unorganized collection of files. You own the material through ingest, organization, and editing.
• Taking ownership of general campus operations or becoming the default event coordinator.
• Creating a disconnected local content system. Every Storyteller operates as part of one coordinated Alpha video network.

Candidate Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional experience producing, shooting, and editing video content in documentary, branded content, agency, newsroom, unscripted, or a comparable environment.
• A portfolio or reel demonstrating strong observational or documentary-style shooting and finished edits you personally helped shape.
• Professional proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Ability to independently execute a small-footprint production, including camera operation, interviews, basic lighting, and clean location audio.
• Strong editorial instincts and the ability to recognize moments that can become effective stories.
• Experience developing projects from initial ideas or loosely defined requests, not exclusively completed briefs.
• Strong interpersonal judgment and the ability to build trust with students, families, educators, and campus leaders.
• Strong organizational habits across production planning, footage management, editing, and delivery.
• Sound judgment when working around minors, confidential information, and student media-consent requirements.
• A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel as required within the assigned territory.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Nice to Have

• Experience producing content in schools, youth programs, or family-centered organizations.
• Background in documentary, vérité, testimonial, or human-centered storytelling.
• Experience maintaining production relationships across multiple locations.
• Motion graphics, color correction, sound mixing, or other advanced post-production skills.
• Familiarity with Frame.io, shared cloud storage, AI-assisted production tools, and collaborative post-production workflows.
• Drone certification or experience with action and 360-degree cameras.
