Administrative Intern

The Administrative Intern will work directly with the Executive Director to support a variety of office, program, event, research, marketing, and database management tasks. This internship offers hands-on experience in nonprofit administration while contributing to two key areas of organizational work: the Iowa Partner State Program and the Passport to Prosperity Awards. The position is ideal for a student interested in nonprofit management, international engagement, communications, event planning, fundraising, or database administration.

Responsibilities:
• Work directly with the Executive Director to support day-to-day administrative and program needs
• Assist with the Iowa Partner State Program, including volunteer coordination and communication
• Support planning for the Passport to Prosperity Awards, including event logistics, sponsorship outreach, donor/fundraising support, invitations, and coordination of materials
• Conduct research to support programs, partnerships, outreach, and event planning
• Assist with marketing and communications, including newsletters, website updates, social media, and promotional content as needed
• Maintain and update databases and spreadsheets accurately
• Provide general office support and assist with other projects as assigned

Organization Description: 
Iowa International Center (IIC) has served as a bridge between Iowa and the wider world for almost 90 years by welcoming international visitors, supporting globally engaged communities, and creating opportunities for meaningful exchange. Today, IIC provides interpretation and translation services in dozens of languages, including a 24-hour hotline that supports access to housing across the state. It also highlights outstanding individuals from Iowa’s international community who make Iowa a better place to live through the annual Passport to Prosperity Award. In addition, IIC facilitates exchanges through programs such as the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), Open World, the Iowa Partner State Program, and university partnerships, all aimed at fostering dialogue and building lasting connections.
