Multimedia Designer
Multimedia Designer
Department: Advancement
Reports To: Director of Marketing & Communications
Position Status: Full Time
Location: Truett McConnell University - Cleveland, GA
Got a good eye and an even better story to tell? We want to see it.
Truett McConnell University is looking for a Multimedia Designer to help shape how our campus looks, sounds, and shows up online. If you love turning a blank canvas (or a blank timeline) into something people actually stop scrolling for, this is your kind of role.
You'll be the creative force behind our social media, print pieces, campus digital displays, and university publications, and you'll get out from behind the desk regularly to shoot photo and video at events across campus. One day you're designing a brochure, the next you're editing a highlight video from a campus event or capturing a moment at chapel service. Variety is basically the job description within the job description.
This role also comes with keys to the Creative Services studio, so you'll have a say in keeping our gear organized, functional, and ready to go.
What you'll actually be doing:
Design that gets seen
Create scroll-stopping content for Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and whatever platform comes next
Design flyers, brochures, banners, and other print materials people actually pick up
Keep campus digital signage fresh and on-brand
Take the lead on our university publications (published twice a year), partnering with Advancement and departments across campus for content
Bring creative concepts and campaign ideas to the table alongside the Marketing Director and Advancement team
Juggle multiple projects and deadlines without dropping the ball
Photo & video that tells the story
Capture high-quality photography and video for the university
Edit and polish assets for both digital and print
Studio & gear
Keep an organized inventory of cameras, lighting, audio, and production equipment
Make sure the studio is always shoot-ready
Being a great teammate
Show up to regular check-ins with the Marketing Director and Advancement staff
Communicate proactively with departments across campus to gather content and feedback
Stay curious about new design trends and tools, we want you growing, not just producing
Pitch in on other creative projects as they come up
Skills that will set you up to succeed
Comfortable in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, and/or After Effects) and Microsoft Office
A portfolio that shows range, print, digital, social, whatever you've made
Photography and videography talent, from capture to final edit
Strong organizational instincts and the ability to manage several projects at once
Clear, friendly communication and the ability to collaborate with all kinds of campus stakeholders
Self-starter energy paired with genuine team spirit
A heart for TMU's Christian mission and a desire to reflect those values through your work
Nice to have, not required:
5+ years in graphic design, marketing, or a related creative field
Experience managing a brand and keeping teams aligned to a style guide
Familiarity with print production and working with vendors
The day-to-day realities (so there are no surprises)
Plenty of time at a workstation, plus time on your feet moving around campus during events
Ability to lift and carry studio equipment (up to 20 lbs.)
Some evenings, weekends, and offsite events, because the best campus moments don't always happen 8-to-4:30
What you'll need to apply
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Digital Media, or a related field
A portfolio you're proud to share
Why TMU?
You'll be joining a close-knit Advancement and Marketing team on a mission-driven campus where your work is seen, on social feeds, in mailboxes, on screens around campus, and at the events that define student life here. If you want a creative role where your work has real reach and real purpose, we'd love to see what you can do.
