MBA Growth Partners is seeking a Business Operations & Marketing Intern to support internal operations, marketing initiatives, business systems, and client-related projects.

MBA Growth Partners is a strategic consulting and business growth firm that helps small and mid-sized companies scale through strategic planning, operational systems, leadership development, and access-to-capital readiness. Our team works alongside clients to implement practical systems, processes, and growth strategies.

This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience with the tools and processes used to manage a growing consulting firm. The intern will work on real business projects while developing skills in project coordination, process management, marketing, research, technology platforms, and professional communication.

Key Responsibilities

Business Operations & Project Support

  • Support day-to-day business operations and internal project coordination.
  • Participate in regular team and intern workshop meetings to review priorities, receive guidance, and collaborate on assignments.
  • Coordinate meetings, maintain task lists, and assist with follow-up activities.
  • Organize, maintain, and retrieve business records, documents, reports, and project information.
  • Review incoming information, submissions, and communications and help route them to the appropriate team members or stakeholders.
  • Conduct business and market research to support internal and client-related projects.

Business Systems & Technology

  • Assist with maintaining and updating project management and business systems, including ClickUp and other technology platforms.
  • Enter, organize, and track project, client, marketing, and operational data.
  • Help improve documented workflows and repeatable business processes.
  • Support basic reporting, task tracking, and performance monitoring.
  • Gain exposure to workflow automation, CRM systems, collaborative platforms, and other business technology tools.

Marketing & Content Support

  • Assist with the development and coordination of marketing content and campaigns.
  • Support MBA Growth Partners' presence across platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and podcasts.
  • Assist with Canva-based marketing materials, presentations, newsletters, and other digital content.
  • Conduct research for marketing campaigns, events, business-development initiatives, and thought-leadership content.
  • Help organize content calendars and monitor assigned marketing activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree program in Marketing, Business Administration, Management, Communications, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple assignments.
  • Comfortable learning and working with digital business tools.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace applications.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while communicating consistently with the team.
  • Strong research, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.
  • Interest in business operations, marketing, consulting, entrepreneurship, or technology-enabled business management.

Preferred, But Not Required

  • Experience with ClickUp, Canva, CRM platforms, project-management systems, or marketing tools.
  • Experience creating social media or digital marketing content.
  • Familiarity with spreadsheets, data tracking, dashboards, or workflow automation.
  • Previous internship, administrative, business, or project-coordination experience.

What the Intern Will Gain

The intern will receive structured guidance, mentoring, and hands-on exposure to how a consulting and business-growth firm operates.

Interns will have the opportunity to:

  • Gain practical experience using tools such as ClickUp, Canva, Microsoft Office, and other business applications.
  • Learn how businesses develop and improve operational workflows and systems.
  • Build project-management and stakeholder-communication skills.
  • Participate in real client and internal business initiatives.
  • Strengthen professional research, writing, marketing, and analytical skills.

One change I would make from the application text: I would not publicly list the internship as simply “$15/hour” until the current applicable Montgomery County wage requirement is confirmed. The posting can safely say “paid hourly internship; compensation will meet applicable Maryland and Montgomery County wage requirements.” This also keeps the MTIP posting aligned with the payroll requirement.
