Marketing & Business Development

For Handshake, I would make the posting broader than the ZipRecruiter version. You want to attract both graduating students who could become the full-time hire and strong current students who could begin part-time and potentially grow into the position.

Marketing & Business Development – Full-Time and Part-Time Opportunities

Center for Executive Medicine (CEM)
Scottsdale, Arizona
Full-Time Hybrid | Part-Time Opportunities Available

About Center for Executive Medicine

Center for Executive Medicine (CEM) is a Scottsdale-based concierge medical practice founded by Dr. Connie Mariano, former White House Physician. CEM provides personalized healthcare through several membership programs, including Adult Care, College Care, and Youth Care.

Much of CEM's growth to date has come through our reputation, existing patients, and referrals. We have done relatively limited formal marketing and are now ready to build a more structured marketing and business development program.

That creates a unique opportunity for the right person to get involved while we are building it.

The Opportunity

We are looking for motivated individuals interested in marketing, business development, sales, community outreach, and building relationships.

We are intentionally keeping our search broad. We are open to a recent graduate who wants an opportunity to learn and grow into the position, as well as someone with more established marketing, sales, or business development experience who is prepared to take on greater responsibility.

We are also interested in current college students studying business, marketing, entrepreneurship, communications, or a related field who would like to work part-time while completing their degree.

This is not primarily a graphic design or social media content position. Social media will be one part of our overall efforts, but the larger objective is figuring out how to introduce CEM and our different membership programs to the right people and build relationships that lead to long-term growth.

What You May Work On

Depending on your experience and whether you join us full-time or part-time, projects may include:

Helping develop CEM's overall marketing and business development plan.

Developing different strategies for Adult Care, College Care, and Youth Care.

Identifying potential referral and strategic partners.

Building relationships with businesses, schools, universities, parent organizations, and community groups.

Developing outreach campaigns and determining how to reach specific audiences.

Helping coordinate and attend community events, networking opportunities, presentations, and tabling events.

Developing messaging, presentations, elevator pitches, and other materials used to introduce CEM.

Researching potential marketing opportunities and presenting recommendations.

Supporting social media and digital marketing initiatives.

Following up with prospective partners and maintaining business relationships.

Helping establish processes for tracking marketing efforts, leads, partnerships, and results.

Working directly with management on new ideas and special projects.

What We're Looking For

We are not expecting an entry-level candidate or college student to arrive knowing how to do everything.

We will provide guidance, answer questions, establish priorities, and work through ideas with you. At the same time, this position is best suited for someone who is comfortable taking initiative.

We are looking for someone who can receive a general objective, research the issue, think through possible approaches, ask questions when needed, and come back with ideas and recommendations.

The right person will be:

Motivated and dependable.

Comfortable meeting and talking with new people.

Professional in both written and verbal communication.

Willing to roll up their sleeves and get projects completed.

Able to work independently without needing constant direction.

Comfortable asking questions when something is unclear.

Interested in troubleshooting problems and finding solutions.

Organized and able to follow through.

Comfortable sharing opinions and presenting ideas.

Interested in learning how a growing healthcare business operates.

A team player who wants to contribute to the continued growth of the company.

Previous marketing, sales, business development, internship, leadership, or customer-facing experience is helpful, but not required for an entry-level candidate. We are equally interested in someone's work ethic, initiative, communication skills, and ability to learn.

Full-Time Opportunity

The full-time position is hybrid and based in Scottsdale, Arizona. Some work will be performed in our Scottsdale office, particularly during onboarding and for meetings, planning sessions, and collaborative projects. A significant portion of the position may be performed remotely once onboarding is complete.

Full-time candidates must be located in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area or able to regularly work from our Scottsdale office as required.

Expected compensation: $40,000–$60,000 annually, depending on education, experience, qualifications, and the level of responsibility the candidate is prepared to assume.

Full-time benefits include:

Health insurance

Paid Time Off (PTO)

Paid holidays

401(k)

Hybrid work environment

Opportunity for professional growth and advancement

Part-Time Student Opportunity

Current students may also be considered for a part-time position.

Part-time work may be primarily remote depending on the student's location, class schedule, availability, and assigned projects. Part-time candidates must reside in Arizona.

We understand that students attending the University of Arizona or other Arizona universities outside the Phoenix area may not be able to regularly work from our Scottsdale office during the school year.

Hours can be discussed based on class schedules and availability. Students who perform well may have the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities and potentially transition into a full-time position following graduation.

Why This Opportunity Is Different

You won't be joining a large marketing department and being handed an established playbook.

You'll have an opportunity to help us build the playbook.

Management will provide guidance and support, but we want your ideas and input. You'll have the opportunity to work directly with leadership, learn how business decisions are made, test different approaches, and see the results of projects you helped develop.

For someone interested in marketing, business development, sales, entrepreneurship, or healthcare administration, this is an opportunity to gain practical experience that goes well beyond completing assigned marketing tasks.

Interested?

Please apply through Handshake and include a current resume.

In your application, we'd also like to know:

Whether you are interested in full-time or part-time employment.

Your current location.

If you are a student, your major and anticipated graduation date.

Why this type of opportunity interests you.
