Startup Operations Associate

Startup Operations & Growth Associate

Fauxliage | Ketchum, Idaho
Full-Time

About Fauxliage

Fauxliage is a young, growing brand reimagining what faux florals can be. We source exceptionally realistic flowers, greenery, plants, and trees from around the world and bring them together with thoughtful design to create beautiful, lasting botanicals for homes, businesses, hotels, restaurants, and events.

What started as an idea has quickly grown into a retail store in Ketchum, an e-commerce business, custom design services, and a growing hospitality, trade, and events business—with plenty still to build.

We're at an exciting stage where new ideas can quickly become new products, services, partnerships, or ways of doing business. We're looking for someone who wants to get in early, work alongside the founder, and play a meaningful role in shaping what Fauxliage becomes next.

The Role

This is a hands-on startup role working closely with the founder across nearly every aspect of building and growing Fauxliage.

There won't be a typical day—and that's part of the opportunity. One day you might be researching a new vendor, helping implement an inventory system, or analyzing sales data. The next, you could be coordinating an event, developing a marketing initiative, preparing a proposal for a hotel, or figuring out a better way to run an operational process.

We're looking for someone who enjoys figuring things out, learns quickly, and is excited to take on increasing responsibility as the company grows.

What You'll Do

You'll work across many areas of the business, including:

Business Operations: Help create and improve processes and systems for inventory, purchasing, fulfillment, shipping, customer orders, and day-to-day operations.

Growth & Business Development: Research potential customers and partners, develop outreach, prepare proposals, and support hospitality, trade, event, and wholesale opportunities.

Marketing & E-Commerce: Assist with website updates, email marketing, social media, promotions, product launches, and other initiatives designed to grow the brand.

Product & Sourcing: Research products and vendors, organize samples, maintain product information, track purchasing, and support assortment planning.

Events & Projects: Help plan and execute events, installations, collaborations, pop-ups, and special customer projects.

Technology & Systems: Identify, implement, and improve tools that make the business more efficient—from Shopify and inventory management to CRM, project management, and AI tools.

Financial & Business Analysis: Help track and analyze sales, expenses, inventory, margins, and other business metrics to support better decision-making.

Special Projects: Take on new opportunities and challenges as they arise—researching the issue, developing solutions, and helping move ideas from concept to execution.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred

1–5 years of professional experience preferred; exceptional recent graduates will also be considered

Strong organizational and project-management skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

High attention to detail and commitment to follow-through

Comfortable working with numbers, spreadsheets, and basic business analysis

Tech-savvy and able to learn new platforms and systems quickly

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace

Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities

Resourceful and comfortable researching unfamiliar topics and developing solutions independently

Self-starter who takes initiative and looks for ways to improve how things are done

Strong interpersonal skills and professional judgment

Flexible and willing to take on responsibilities outside a narrowly defined job description

Interest in entrepreneurship and learning how a growing business operates

Experience with e-commerce, Shopify, marketing, operations, analytics, project management, or AI tools is a plus, but not required

Who We're Looking For

We're less concerned about a specific background than finding the right person with the aptitude, energy, and mindset to thrive in a growing business.

The ideal candidate is:

Curious: You like learning new things and aren't intimidated by something you haven't done before.

Resourceful: When you encounter a problem, your instinct is to research it, find options, and recommend a solution.

Proactive: You notice what needs to be done and take initiative rather than waiting for detailed instructions.

Organized: You can keep multiple projects moving without losing track of the details.

Analytical: You're comfortable with numbers and enjoy using information to solve problems and make decisions.

Tech-savvy: You're quick to learn new tools and interested in finding better ways to use technology—including AI—to get things done.

Adaptable: You're comfortable when priorities change and willing to jump into whatever is most important.

Entrepreneurial: You're excited by the process of building something and want to understand how all the pieces of a business fit together.

A doer: You're willing to roll up your sleeves and turn ideas into action.

Why Fauxliage

This is an opportunity to learn how a business is actually built—and to have a hand in building it.

You'll work directly with the founder and gain exposure to nearly every part of the company: product, operations, marketing, finance, technology, customers, partnerships, and growth. Instead of being limited to one function, you'll have the opportunity to understand how the pieces fit together, contribute ideas, and see the impact of your work.

Because Fauxliage is still in an early stage, there's significant opportunity to shape both the business and your own role within it. As the company grows, we want this person to grow with it—taking on increasing responsibility and ultimately owning meaningful parts of the business.

This role could be particularly well suited to an early-career, high-potential person who is ambitious, entrepreneurial, and eager to learn.

You don't need to know how to do everything on day one.

You do need to be the kind of person who says, "I'll figure it out."
