FRONTRUNNER is an artist-run creative studio, magazine, and arts organization founded in 2009 working across New York and Washington, D.C.

About the Role

We're looking for a motivated college intern to support the planning, promotion, and execution of live music events. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real experience in event production, artist booking, and the business side of the music industry — ideal for someone who wants to build a career in music, entertainment, or live events.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the planning and logistics of live music events, from concept through execution
  • Support talent booking efforts, including researching artists, reaching out to agents/managers, and helping negotiate terms
  • Help coordinate advance work — confirming schedules, technical riders, hospitality, and day-of logistics with artists and venues
  • Communicate professionally with artists, vendors, venues, and sponsors via phone and email
  • Assist the sales team with securing sponsorships, ticket sales partnerships, or vendor relationships
  • Draft promotional materials, event recaps, and internal communications
  • Provide on-site support during events, including artist check-in and troubleshooting

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest or prior experience in sales, outreach, or relationship-building
  • Genuine interest in pursuing a career in the music or live events industry
  • Comfortable multitasking and staying organized under deadlines
  • Ability to work some evenings/weekends around event schedules
  • Bonus: familiarity with booking platforms, CRM tools, or social media promotion

What You'll Gain

  • Direct exposure to talent booking and artist relations
  • Real-world experience in event advance work and production
  • Sales and negotiation skills applicable across the entertainment industry
  • Networking opportunities with artists, agents, and industry professionals
