About The Pediatric Collective

The Pediatric Collective is an industry association. It brings together pediatric therapy companies, clinicians, parents, caregivers, researchers, and other industry leaders committed to improving access to high-quality care for children.

Pediatric therapy does not receive enough attention despite the enormous need. Families often face long waitlists for speech, occupational, physical, and behavioral therapy—in some communities, children may wait months or even years for an appointment. These delays can cause children to miss critical opportunities for early intervention.

The Pediatric Collective was created to help change that. We plan to elevate pediatric therapy as a national priority, increase awareness of the challenges facing children and families, share promising practices across the industry, and bring together organizations that can help develop meaningful solutions.

The Pediatric Collective is separate from Oaklin Lane and is intended to represent and include companies throughout the pediatric therapy industry.

About the Role

We are looking for an organized, resourceful, and mission-driven Project Management Intern to help build The Pediatric Collective and coordinate initiatives designed to advance the pediatric therapy field.

You will help turn ambitious ideas into well-executed projects. This may include organizing industry working groups, coordinating research and educational initiatives, developing events, managing content projects, and bringing together stakeholders from across the pediatric therapy community.

This is not an observational internship. You will own meaningful workstreams, collaborate with industry leaders, and help build an association with the potential to improve access to care for children and families nationwide.

What You’ll Do

Depending on your interests and experience, projects may include:

Developing project plans, timelines, milestones, and success measures

Coordinating initiatives involving therapy providers, clinicians, parents, researchers, and industry partners

Organizing meetings, working groups, webinars, roundtables, and other events

Tracking responsibilities, deadlines, risks, and follow-up items across multiple projects

Supporting research into therapy access, waitlists, workforce shortages, reimbursement, and other industry challenges

Helping develop reports, educational resources, and industry recommendations

Coordinating content and communications for The Pediatric Collective

Identifying and engaging potential association members and partners

Researching organizations and leaders that could contribute to the Collective’s mission

Documenting processes and building systems that allow initiatives to scale

Preparing presentations, project updates, and materials for industry leaders

Presenting recommendations directly to The Pediatric Collective’s leadership

Who Should Apply

We welcome undergraduate and graduate students from all academic backgrounds, including:

Project or program management

Business or entrepreneurship

Healthcare administration

Public health

Public policy

Psychology or child development

Education or special education

Communications

Speech-language pathology

Occupational or physical therapy

Other related disciplines

Prior healthcare or project-management experience is not required. We care more about initiative, organization, communication, and a genuine interest in improving access to pediatric therapy.

Strong candidates will be:

Passionate about helping children and families

Highly organized and attentive to detail

Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines

Strong writers and communicators

Skilled at coordinating people with different perspectives

Able to bring structure to open-ended projects

Comfortable working independently in a remote environment

Proactive, dependable, and eager to take ownership
