Veterinary Technician

Brijon Veterinary Urgent Care is a small, privately owned business focusing on same-day sick appointments and walk-in cases. We are open 8 hours a day, 7 days a week (excluding major holidays). Our goal is to provide quality care at an affordable price to any dogs or cats that need us!

Full Time employees will work a minimum of 4 days a week, equaling 32 hours. Part Time employees will work 1, 2 or 3 days a week depending on the needs of the business and the employee.

The right candidate should have a positive attitude and good communication skills. Here at Brijon, we strongly encourage open communication within the team and management. We and want our staff to be comfortable coming to us with issues or feedback of any kind. It is very important to us that our work environment is as stress-free and focused on the medicine as possible.

If you decide to join our team, you will be working in a fast-paced environment where every shift is a little different. It will help if you have emergency or urgent care experience, but any related veterinary familiarity would be great.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

· Working as an individual and as part of the team

· Checking patients in, and triaging over the phone or in person

· Doing patient workups in the treatment area (blood draws, xrays, running labwork on our in house machines, placing iv catheters, etc.)

· Safely restrain dogs and cats

· Monitor anesthesia, intubate both dogs and cats

· Administer medications (IV, IM, SQ, Oral, etc.)

· Cash clients out and go over discharges

Position Requirements:

· You must be able to stand, walk, kneel, hear and see. You will frequently be on your feet and expected to be able to lift and move things, including our animal patients

· You must be able to lift 25lbs unassisted

· You must be able to read and understand instructions

· Must be comfortable with veterinary terminology and medical calculations

· Work well under pressure

· Work as an individual by being able to do some or most tasks alone, as well as part of the team

· Minimum 2 years experience as a Veterinary Technician or CVT (however, we will train the right candidate!)
