Community Compost Hub Intern (San Mateo)
Gain hands-on experience supporting community composting and local food systems with Fresh Approach! This internship focuses on compost collection at the San Mateo Farmers’ Market and compost maintenance at Phoenix Garden.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support compost collection, booth setup, and community outreach at the San Mateo Farmers’ Market
- Onboard new program members and distribute compost buckets
- Maintain and integrate compost at Phoenix Garden
- Support and oversee volunteers and assist with building compost systems
- Participate in team meetings, outreach, and community events
Ideal Candidate: Organized, reliable, community-oriented, and interested in food systems, agriculture, or environmental sustainability. Bilingual Spanish preferred. Must have reliable transportation, be comfortable working outdoors, and be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
Details: Part-time internship | 10–12 hours/week | $18/hour | August–December | Saturdays required | San Mateo County.
