OutPastMidnight is a Chicago-based creative collective and production company dedicated to amplifying Black and Brown voices through music, art, and community. We manage artists, produce live events, and create opportunities for emerging talent while providing services across music, media, design, and live production. Rooted in community, creativity, culture, and collaboration, OPM is committed to creating meaningful experiences and expanding access to the arts.


 

Position Overview:
OutPastMidnight, LLC is seeking two creative and motivated Social Media Interns to help grow our digital presence across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Each intern will take primary ownership of one platform (YouTube or TikTok) while working collaboratively to develop, create, edit, and publish content across all three platforms.

Both interns will be responsible for maintaining a shared content calendar and developing a consistent posting schedule for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. This includes co-creating content, editing short and long form video, identifying trends, capturing content at events, engaging with our online community, and using platform analytics to improve performance.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone interested in music, entertainment, digital marketing, content creation, and artist development to gain real experience building a growing entertainment brand.


 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the other Social Media Intern to manage and grow OPM’s presence across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Develop and maintain a shared content calendar and consistent posting schedule across all three platforms.
  • Repurpose existing content into platform specific posts, Reels, Shorts, and Stories.
  • Capture behind-the-scenes and live event content featuring OPM artists, events, and projects.
  • Monitor social media trends, sounds, formats, and platform updates and pitch new content ideas.
  • Manage community engagement through comments, DMs, and interactions with relevant artists, organizations, and audiences.
  • Track platform analytics including views, reach, engagement, follower growth, watch time, and retention.
  • Identify high performing content and recommend strategies to improve growth and engagement.
  • Assist with social campaigns surrounding concerts, artist releases, merchandise, and OPM events.
  • Collaborate with OPM’s graphics, photo, and video teams to develop cohesive visual content.
  • Participate in regular content planning meetings and present new ideas and performance insights. (Schedule media/content days)


 

Weekly Deliverable

Content Calendar & Posting Schedule

  • Submit a weekly content calendar outlining planned posts for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Include content type, platform, caption/concept, posting date/time, and any required photo/video/graphic assets.
  • Coordinate with the other Social Media Intern to ensure content is distributed consistently across all platforms.
  • Work toward planning content 2–4 weeks in advance as the social strategy develops.


 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in music, entertainment, social media, and digital content.
  • Experience creating and editing short form video content.
  • Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, and/or YouTube.
  • Creative eye and ability to identify emerging social media trends.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaborating with a creative team.
  • Experience with Canva is a plus.

     

Internship Logistics:

  • Location: Chicago, IL (Remote/Hybrid; required to attend weekly online meetings).
  • Hours: 6–10 hours per week, depending on the event and content schedule.
  • Duration: Open-ended internship, based on your availability and interest in the position.
  • Compensation: Paid event opportunities + commission-based compensation for qualifying artist bookings.
  • Mentorship: Direct mentorship from the Artist Manager, with opportunities to collaborate with the full creative team.
