Program Experience Team
Principal Purpose of Job:
In collaboration with the Ohio Ministry Network, Heartland’s Program Staff is responsible for providing instruction for outdoor education groups, facilitating programming for retreat groups, help maintain facilities and equipment, and assist in the ministry efforts of Heartland programs for the glory of God.
Essential Job Functions
1. Be familiar with and able to facilitate all programming aspects of the Heartland Outdoor Education program, including but not limited to:
a. Teaching classes
b. Meal-time Coordinator and Dining Room Supervisor
c. Facilitating evening programs and meal times
d. Leading daily afternoon activities
e. Building and maintaining professional/quality relationships with teachers, students and guests
f. Roving in the dorms after lights out when assigned
g. Being “on call” on camp during the nights when assigned
2. Facilitation of programming for retreat groups, including but not limited to:
a. High Ropes Course and Zip Line
b. Team Challenge Course and team-building activities
c. Climbing Wall
d. Archery
3. Maintenance of program equipment and supplies
4. Program Development
a. Be willing to brainstorm, research, and develop ideas into functioning concepts when asked
b. Constructing items for activities
c. Continually improving one’s knowledge and skill set to better serve guests
5. Provide day-to-day Nature Center feeding, cleaning, and care
6. Lifeguarding for summer camp season
7. Assisting and participating in staff training(s) when necessary
8. Assisting other departments as needed
9. Additional Responsibilities Could Include: Hosting Guest Groups, Teacher/Cabin Leader Presentations, Marketing/Recruitment Trips
10. Attend national and regional conventions as recommended by the Executive Director and/or Program Director
11. Participate in higher/continuing educational opportunities as available and approved/recommended by the Executive Director and/or Program Director

Experience in Christian camping, conferencing and retreating and/or minimum two-year degree preferred
