Instructional Design/E-Learning Intern - Summer 2027

Each summer, our company welcomes students for a first-hand look into our business. Our interns study a variety of majors, and work in departments across the organization, taking on projects that have long-term impact on our business. This position is for an Instructional Design/E-Learning Intern in Columbus, OH

This intern will support the development of innovative learning solutions improve learner engagement and knowledge retention. This role will combine instructional design, artificial intelligence, software development, gamification, and multimedia production to create engaging employee training experiences through virtual learning, AI-assisted content generation, interactive learning tools, training videos, and digital applications.

 

The duties and responsibilities for this particular position may include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of e-learning modules, microlearning content, and digital training resources. Review and test learning content prior to deployment.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to transform technical information into engaging learning experiences.
  • Research, test, and implement Generative AI tools to improve content creation and learner engagement.
  • Design prompts and workflows that leverage AI to create training plans, quizzes, learning paths, and knowledge checks.
  • Evaluate AI-generated content for quality, accuracy, and instructional effectiveness.
  • Design and develop gamified learning experiences to increase learner participation and retention, such as leaderboards, challenges, interactive simulations, digital badges, and reward systems.
  • Develop and test software applications and tools using C# and related Microsoft technologies.
  • Create visual assets, graphics, screen recordings, and motion content for training programs.
  • Review training materials for quality, usability, accuracy, and consistency.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Direct programming experience with C#.
  • Experience using Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar technologies.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications and collaboration tools.
  • Familiarity with e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, or similar platforms preferred but not required.
  • Experience with video editing and multimedia creation tools such as Camtasia, Adobe After Effects, GitHub, DaVinci Resolve, Synthesia, or equivalent software preferred but not required.
  • Strong creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated passion for technology, learning and innovation.


Education/Experience Required

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university. Applicable fields of study include Instructional Design, Computer Science, Information Technology, Educational Technology, Multimedia Design, or similar major. Anticipated graduation dates between December 2027 - May 2029.
