Business Technology Optimization Intern - Summer 2027

Each summer, our company welcomes students for a first-hand look into our business. Our interns study a variety of majors, and work in departments across the organization, taking on projects that have long-term impact on our business. This position is for a Business Technology Optimization Intern in Columbus, OH on the Acquisition Integration team, which leads the successful onboarding and integration of acquired organizations by coordinating cross-functional collaboration across business and technology teams. This intern will gain experience in reporting & data analytics, change management, automation & AI solutions, merger & acquisition management, and stakeholder management.

The duties and responsibilities for this particular position may include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain reporting dashboards, KPIs, status trackers, and executive-level summaries to support acquisition integration activities.
  • Analyze data and processes to identify trends, risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Document and optimize business processes through process mapping, SOP creation, workflows, job aids, and knowledge management resources.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams to capture, standardize, and improve operational practices.
  • Support onboarding, training, and knowledge transfer efforts through the development of user-friendly reference materials and documentation.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for automation, including workflow enhancements, reporting efficiencies, and AI-driven solutions using Microsoft Power Platform tools.
  • Assist in the development, testing, deployment, and documentation of automation solutions, bots, and virtual assistants.
  • Support acquisition integration project planning, coordination, stakeholder communication, meeting management, and status reporting.
  • Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance integration effectiveness, governance, and operational efficiency.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel) and other general computer skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Process-oriented mindset with a focus on efficiency
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn new technology and systems
  • Strong customer and stakeholder focus
  • Excellent follow-through, ability to meet deadlines, decision-making and multi-tasking skills

Education/Experience Required

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university with an anticipated graduation date between December 2027 - May 2029. Applicable fields of study include Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, Economics, Global Business, or related field.
