We are seeking a highly experienced Senior IT Project Manager to join a large-scale Project & Product Delivery portfolio. In this role, you will lead and manage complex enterprise projects utilizing Agile, SAFe, Waterfall, and Kanban methodologies. You will collaborate closely with all project stakeholders, including senior leadership, business units, cross-functional teams, and external vendors, to ensure the successful delivery of high-value technology initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive consistent project delivery through the entire project lifecycle, managing project plans, release plans, resource allocation, risks, scope, schedule, and overall value delivery.
  • Coordinate and facilitate Agile Ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Retrospectives, Sprint Demos, Story Refinement, and Release Planning.
  • Track and communicate project progress from a schedule, cost, and risk perspective to project teams, stakeholders, and executive management.
  • Establish a highly effective team environment by removing obstacles and protecting the team from outside interruptions and distractions.
  • Foster strong relationships between the development team, the Product Owner, and external stakeholders.
  • Track and report team velocity and other critical project metrics to promote continuous improvement and increase productivity.
  • Assist the Product Owner and team with effective Product Backlog management and prioritization.
  • Ensure teams are adhering to core Agile and Waterfall principles, as well as established enterprise project management practices.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Active Certification: Must possess an active Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Risk Management: Must have heavily documented and proven risk management experience.
  • Project Scale: Must have completed a large-scale government/public sector project valued at $5M or more OR completed a private sector/commercial project valued at greater than $10M as the primary Project Manager of record.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active government or public sector-specific PM Certifications.
  • Prior risk management experience within a public sector or enterprise government environment.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) models alongside expert knowledge of Agile project management principles and practices.
  • Well-versed in Scrum and Kanban Agile methodologies; experience with the SAFe framework is highly desired.
  • Exceptional ability to balance competing demands for quality, scope, schedule, and cost.
  • Ability to work closely with customers, deeply understand their business practices, and effectively manage expectations.
  • Proven ability to set clear performance standards and hold team members accountable while keeping the team engaged and on track.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and document complex business and system processes.

 

Required / Desired Skills

  • Active Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) Required - 8 Years
  • Documented risk management experience Required - 5 Years
  • Completion of a Category 1 or 2 project of $5M or more Required - 2 Years
  • Completion of non-COV project with a value greater than $10M as PM of record. Required - 5 Years
